LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE OFFICER IS HONORARY PRINCIPAL OF THE DAY
(Los Angeles, California – March 27, 2015) Los Angeles Airport Police Officer Robert Pedregon, a six-year veteran, was the Honorary Principal today at Greenville Fundamental Elementary School in Santa Ana.
Officer Pedregon was personally asked to return to the school by the principal Ms. Felisa Gear, after attending Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9, 2015. During that visit, he assisted in coordinating the collection of thank you cards, letters and posters from students from four separate schools. He also gave a presentation to over 180 third and fourth grade students about life of an airport police officer.
Honorary “Principal” Pedregon’s day today began with a Flag Ceremony, the pledge of allegiance and a patriotic song about “responsibility” which was sung by one of the classes. Officer Pedregon also introduced and announced the names of students who were recognized for various awards. Following the ceremony, the “Principal of the Day” went to classrooms where he introduced himself to the students and answered questions, sat in the Principal’s seat and spoke to a student about honesty, respect and the importance of doing the right thing.
After attending a luncheon at Santa Ana High School with the Superintendent of the District and other honorees who were acknowledged as Principal of the Day in the Santa Ana District today, Officer Pedregon returned to the classrooms where he read along with students.
Officer Pedregon, a Field Training Officer before he was selected into the Airport Police Motor Unit, says “It was truly an honor to have this experience today at Greenville Fundamental Elementary School.”
