LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE SWEAR IN NEW OFFICER

(Los Angeles, California – April 15, 2016) Los Angeles Airport Police swear in a new officer in a ceremony held in downtown Los Angeles.
New Airport Police Officer Pedro Torres along with 20 other City of Los Angeles police officers, completed the six month long, Los Angeles Police Academy class 11A-15.
Before swearing-in the new officer, Airport Police Chief Patrick Gannon addressed Officer Torres and his family. “I welcome you to the Airport Police family, and I thank you for your commitment to our great organization.” said Chief Gannon.

The Officer Torres will now complete a six-month Field Training Program specific to airport law enforcement, under the guidance of a field training officer before being assigned to the Patrol Services Section.

The Los Angeles Airport Police is the nation's premier aviation law-enforcement agency with more than 1,100 specially trained police officers, security officers, and civilian staff protecting Los Angeles International, LA/Ontario International, and Van Nuys airports.
