AIRPORT POLICE LIEUTENANT GRADUATES FROM LOS ANGELES FIRE DEPARTMENT LEADERSHIP ACADEMY GRADUATION


(Los Angeles, California – August 21, 2013) Los Angeles Airport Police Lieutenant Clint Beacom, who is assigned to the Patrol Services Section, graduated from Los Angeles Fire Department's (LAFD) Leadership Academy Class 13-2 at the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center in Los Angeles early August 2013. 

The LAFD Leadership Academy is based upon a military-based leadership curriculum with case studies specific to the fire department. The academy focuses on four areas of leadership: the leader, the led, the situation, and the integration of these areas.

The class consisted of 136 hours of rigorous course study in behavioral science and leadership theories. Among the course participants were a diverse group of professionals from private and public entities which included California Institute of Technology and the Emergency Management Department.

Lieutenant Beacom was presented his graduation certificate by Los Angeles Fire Chief Brian Cummings. The Los Angeles Airport Police Division was represented by 2012 graduate and class speaker, Commanding Officer Dana Brown and Captain Latasha Wells Amerson.

The Los Angeles Airport Police Division is the Nation's premier aviation law enforcement agency with over 1,100 specially trained police officers, security officers, and civilian staff protecting Los Angeles International, Ontario International, and Van Nuys airports.
