THREE NEW OFFICERS JOIN THE LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE 

   (Los Angeles, California – November 2, 2015)  Three new Los Angeles Airport Police officers have joined the ranks of the Airport’s finest.   
   Recruit Officers Antony Gonzalez, Gladis Sanchez and Class President Liza Florendo, who was also awarded the LAPD Academy's Tina Kerbrat award for the most inspirational recruit, were sworn-in after graduating from the Los Angeles Police Academy Class 5-15 in a ceremony held at the Los Angeles Police Department Administration Building in Downtown Los Angeles on October 30, 2015.
   Recruit Officer and Class President Florendo gave an inspirational speech in which she spoke about taking on challenges and working together as a team to overcome obstacles.
   Airport Police Chief Patrick Gannon conducted the officer’s swearing-in and welcomed the new officers with these words of wisdom, "You have received 6 months of the best recruit training in the country, I am proud of you and proud of the way you represented the Los Angeles Airport Police in the academy.  You now begin your next phase of training, as you transition to the airport we will prepare you with additional aviation specific training for the huge responsibility of protecting the over 71 million and more passengers that utilize LAX annually." 
   Class 5-15 with 47 officers, trained for six months. The new Airport Police Officers will now complete a six-month Field Training Program specific to airport law enforcement, under the guidance of a field training officer before being assigned to Patrol Services Section.
   The Los Angeles Airport Police is the nation's premier aviation law enforcement agency with more than 1,100 specially trained police officers, security officers, and civilian staff protecting Los Angeles International, LA/Ontario International, and Van Nuys airports.
