Community Partnerships
In order to foster strong partnerships and stay connected with communities in the LAX area, LAX Community Relations is a proud member and supporter of several local Chambers of Commerce, including El Segundo, Culver City, Inglewood/Airport Area, LAX Coastal and Hawthorne. The division also holds membership with civic and service organizations like the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs, and is involved with supporting many non-profits in the area including the USO at LAX, Airport Marina Counseling Center, St. Margaret’s Center and Westchester YMCA.
Educational Programs
LAX Community Relations have educational outreach programs that introduce the future generations to the world of aviation and business. Aviation Careers Education (ACE) Academy is a fun, interactive aviation summer camp for middle and high school students who are interested in a career associated with aviation and aerospace. LAX also hosts Job Shadow Day and Aviation Career Day for local students.
Internships
Los Angeles World Airports’ Gateways Program is specifically designed to open doors and create career paths into the aviation industry for local high school and college students. The program provides students with valuable exposure to aviation-related careers, and gain significant real-world work experience opportunities. The Gateways Program has two options for students which are determined by the student’s eligibility:
Volunteerism
LAX Community Relations embraces and promotes the value of teamwork, community service and stewardship. Team LAWA, the employee volunteer program, has participated in various events throughout the year such as the L.A. Marathon Health & Fitness Expo, March of Dimes Walk and Coastal Cleanup Day.
