Purpose and Overview
The Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Planning & Development Group (PDG) plans, designs, and delivers LAWA’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and ancillary projects and initiatives that ultimately improve the operation and guest experience of our Airports.
PDG’s organization is an integrated group comprised of accomplished LAWA staff and consultants, who share the collaborative goal of achieving safe, on-time and on-budget delivery of all projects. Our team brings expertise of planners, architects, engineers, project managers, technicians, graphic designers, analysts, accountants and administrative personnel, who collaborate on initiatives to develop, define and deliver sustainable, world-class solutions for our airports.

Leadership
PDG is managed and supervised by Deputy Executive Director Robert Falcon. Deputy Falcon joined LAWA in 2008 and previously led the Airside / Lanside / Utilities / Infrastructure and Planning and Engineering Group. His team has been responsible for planning the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) for the Automated People Mover (APM), Consolidated Rent-A-Car Center (ConRAC) and Intermodal Transportation Facilities.
Deputy Falcon, who has a Professional Engineer license from the State of California, has almost 30 years of planning, engineering and professional experience working with the City of Los Angeles.
Deputy Falcon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland.
Organization and Core Responsibilities
PDG is organized by the planning and development of specific work elements: airside, landside, utilities, infrastructure and terminals, and includes supportive divisional roles of construction inspection, graphic arts, public art, and tenant improvement approval process.
