| October 2012 | Draft of Part 161 document for public release received by LAWA for review |
| November 1, 2012 | Notice of Proposed Restriction released, public review period opened |
| November 13, 2012 | Public workshop held at the Flight Path Learning Center at LAX |
| November 14, 2012 | Study findings presented to LAX/Community Noise Roundtable |
| December 17, 2012 | Public comment period closed |
| December 31, 2012 | Final draft of 161 document received by LAWA for review |
| January 29, 2013 | Application submitted to FAA for determination |
| March 1 and 15, 2013 | FAA notified LAWA the application is incomplete |
| March 28, 2013 | LAWA notified FAA of its intent to revise and resubmit the application |
| July 2, 2013 | LAWA submitted Application Supplement to the FAA |
| August 2, 2013 | FAA notified LAWA that the Application Supplement was incomplete |
| August 21, 2013 | LAWA notified FAA of its intent to revise and resubmit the Application Supplement |
| May 9, 2014 | LAWA submitted revised Application to FAA |
| June 10, 2014 | FAA determined that the LAX Part 161 application is complete |
| November 7, 2014 | FAA issued a decision to disapprove the LAX Part 161 application |
