XPRESS SHUTTLE INTRODUCES WORLD’S FIRST FLEET OF POLLUTION-FREE VEHICLES TO LAX NEW RAPID-CHARGING TECHNOLOGY MAKES NEW DOOR-TO-DOOR VAN SERVICE POSSIBLE
(Los Angeles, California – January 5, 2000) Xpress Shuttle today begins door-to-door van service at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) using state-of-the-art, zero-emission electric vehicles. Xpress will initially use 11 Daimler-Chrysler Electric Powered Interurban Commuter (EPIC) minivans and will increase the number to 50 within a year.

All media are advised that Van Nuys Airport's (VNY) Public Affairs Division now has its own telephone number.

During regular business hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., the news media are requested to call (818) 909-3529. After-hours and weekends, all media inquiries should be directed to Airport Police at 818) 989-1747. Airport Police will notify the appropriate spokesperson. The general administrative number for the airport remains the same: (818) 785-8838.
