The Los Angeles Airport Police Division (APO) will help bring the joy of reading to children traveling through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as part of Read Across America Day, the nation's largest annual reading motivation and awareness program. APO officers will read stories written by Dr. Seuss, a.k.a. Theodor Seuss Geisel, just one day before his birthday.
A costumed Cat in the Hat character will invite children and their traveling adults to the reading area, located immediately after post-security staircases, to enjoy a reading of the beloved classic, Green Eggs and Ham. Children who attend will receive souvenir bags with LAX activity coloring books, crayons, LAX squeezie planes and Dr. Seuss-themed bookmarks. LAX Pets Unstressing Passengers (PUPs) will also get in on the fun, offering a warm and cozy complement to the program and providing a great photo op for the kids and adults alike.
